Jesus gave us, as his followers, the example of being a servant: of being humble and gentle.. Paul imitated him and the clue as to why he boasted in his weakness.

Parable of Pharisee and tax Collector: Luke 18

 Those who exalt themselves will be humbled, those who humble themselves will be exalted

Matt 12.34

PRIDE: Pharisee;  -You aren’t going to speak to me like that: I’m not going to apologise to anyone......But: Its not fair: Did you hear about – or – what is the latest with  x?: I just want you to know ....; never grateful: make sure what you do is seen (Performance)

Tax Collector: Humble yourself: Ps 15.27  You rescue the humble, but humiliate the proud: Prov 3.34 The Lord mocks the mockers, but is gracious to the humble.: Isa 66.2 I will bless those who are humble and have contrite hearts, those who tremble at My Word.

 

Phil 2: 6-7 To voluntarily humble yourself is to:

·         Surrender your will

·         Not Demand your Rights

·         Let someone else go first

·         Serve behind the scenes

·         Say nothing when someone-else gets credit for what you did

·         Fast and Pray in secret

·         Willingly, voluntarily confess sin

·         Treat others better than yourself, regardless of their social status

·         Ask for Help

Mother Teresa’s List:
