We need to admit our faults and come to God. Standing before God-   We have no defense. Can I say I'm Innocent? Anything else is admitting guilt.

8:7  First Covenant , then New Covenant: God found fault with People, not Covenant.

Heb 4: 14-16: we can approach God's throne with confidence to receive mercy and grace. 1 Pet 2:9 You are chosen by God:

 Heb 5: 1-3  Qualification 1: man is chosen by God to represent other people to God.

Jesus: He represents people before God: He presents gifts to God: He offers sacrifices for their sins: He doesn't judge but understands our struggles.

In God's throne room, He stops everything and listens to you for your friends. Heb 5:4-6

Qualification 2: Obedience : chosen to be sinless : Heb 5: 7-10  .. thru suffering

relationship with us requires Love and Obedience (discipline) 1Jn 2

Solid food : doing what is right

Jesus endured the cross - you must take up cross (not follow crowd) I Tim 4:8 Physical training good but godliness has value both here and in life to come.

My struggle: developing my strength and obedience.

Heb 5: 11-14  striving for godliness: where we are: rest in God, Come into Gods presence.

What would cause you to leave Christ? loss of loved one, expectation not met,..... What do you value most!

Loss of MV Blythe Star 1973 : a rogue wave : 'Will your Anchor drift, or remain firm'

1. You will lose your salvation: Heb 2: 1-4 . You don't know what you have , until you lose it. Salvation has everlasting value. Matt 13: 'treasure buried in field' . Hang onto faith

2. We play a part in things to come: Heb 2: 5-10 . 'all things under their authority' Job descriptions in Isa 32. "honest princes will rule under Him"

3. Included in family of God: Heb 2: 11-15. Where do I find my identity, my belonging, my purpose? a son of God.

4. Set free from death: Heb 2: 14-18.  Could you face death, without hope? What will happen after you die? 

Do you have a fear of death? Millions around the world today are tested for faith, some to death. Note Rev 20: 4-6 Are you prepared to die for your faith? There is a lot at stake!  

We have and anchor (Heb 6:19) ..........Don't let this Hope go!
